Make flexible work feel accessible—and credible.
Social strategy and community stewardship for an on-demand staffing marketplace connecting businesses that need hourly help with people seeking flexible shifts and side gigs.
A marketplace needs to speak to both sides.
Bacon connects businesses with temporary hourly workers through an app. Employers can post shifts and select workers; workers can find opportunities that fit their schedules. My consulting work focused on helping that story reach both hiring decision-makers and people looking for flexible income.
I developed the social strategy across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, with audience-specific content themes, a consistent brand voice, customer stories, press amplification, and ongoing channel stewardship.
Turn press coverage and real stories into useful content.
My 2019 strategy laid out how to extend a Forbes feature through social posts, article excerpts, employee sharing, client outreach, and materials for sales. The emphasis was on making media coverage useful beyond publication day.
During COVID, the reporting identified opportunity-focused messaging and timely commentary as strong content themes. I monitored comments and questions, built media lists, reviewed channel performance, and recommended ways to reuse testimonials, case studies, and video.
As paid promotion increased, community management became more important. I responded to questions and helped manage skeptical or disruptive comments, keeping the channels useful for people evaluating the service.
Reporting that explained what to do next.
| Report | Observed signal | Implication for the work |
|---|---|---|
| June 2020 | Opportunity-focused content connected to COVID was among the strongest posts. | Keep the message relevant to workers’ and employers’ immediate needs. |
| September/October 2020 | Instagram reach moved from the mid-100s per post to mostly the 300–400 range; the account had 299 followers. | Combine content and community management with the wider paid promotion effort. |
| December 2020 | A “Best Tech Startups in Provo” post generated 29 clicks and 18 reactions. | Use third-party recognition to support recruiting, sales conversations, and employee advocacy. |
The September/October report explicitly credited increased advertising and follower growth as contributors to reach. These are channel observations from the consulting period, rather than claims of independently generated app installs or revenue.
